Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. Michael E. Miller earned his D.D.S. degree from VCU/MCV School of Dentistry, graduating as Valedictorian of the Class of 1984. Dr. Miller went on to complete a four year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at VCU Health Systems/MCV Hospitals, and has been in private practice in Richmond for over 20 years with Commonwealth Oral and Facial Surgery. He maintains a Clinical Assistant Professor position with the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at VCU Health Systems School of Dentistry, and in addition to practicing all general aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, concentrates in the treatment of patients with maxillofacial growth deformities/orthognathic surgery as well as dental implant surgery. Dr. Michael E. Miller holds active memberships in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (past President) and the American Dental Association. He is a fellow of the Virginia Dental Association, the American Colleges of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Miller is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, certified since 1990.
Dr. Miller served as President of the Southeastern Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons from May 2014-May 2015. SSOMS is a 650-member organization representing oral surgeons in eleven states, from West Virginia to Florida and west to Louisiana. The society contributes to the public welfare through advancement of the specialty of oral & maxillofacial surgery.
